the only moments im not looking at a screen is when i take showers or have to go down cuz my parents bring me food, so yeah im an internet addict and has been here since my parents bought me a tablet when i was 8 yo and a nintendo 3ds when i was 6, a ps2 when i was 4, and a xbox360 when i was 10, if something i gotta say i enjoyed very much my childhood and adolescense but now i dont feel i grew up to be a functional adult, i was born and raised by the technology and idk how to escape it

I am, but fuck modern social media. It's too corporate and accessible. You know that thousand yard stare you get when you tell people "I'm not on instagram" or whatever.

Everything that already seemed interesting has already happened so I don't see how that is possible

true, I used to be an internet addict but nowadays I'm only glued to it when something crazy is happening, shit's boring most of the time. if I didn't daydream so much (both sexual and otherwise, also dreaming up game concepts and alternate histories and other crap) I wouldn't be able to tolerate spending my days online. there aren't cool communities to snoop in on anymore, I need projects, though I do like my handful of small forums where I know people.

me too i browse before and after work too and the moments i look away from a screen is when i have to go out (groceries, shopping) or go eat and use the restroom.

i was 12 when i got addicted to the internet

i have instagram but im taking a break from it. i have over 900 followers because i knew a lot of people but they didnt know me so well, and those are called "mutuals" or "moots". they would say im pretty and make me feel good everytime i posted a story or photo, but when i look in the mirror i feel like im the most despicable woman ever, thus i do things such as chatting on forums to relieve the stress. people ask me for my instagram or snap a lot, but thats only when i go out which ic snot often

I believe I'm one. I conditioned myself to be like that as a kid I guess, spending my days playing Wii and Minecraft. My PC became my main source of joy ever since and I probably can't live a life without it anymore.

That's so sad. I imagine boys getting happy when added to a girls' account, but in reality the actual relation between you two seems so weak. It's crazy how such weak human relationships come as normal in our current world, but that does seems to be the tendency.

Absolutely. Though it's not nearly as interesting any more, the corpos have made a lot of it very samey and boring. I miss when you used to discover something super interesting and unique every time you surfed the internet.

Living without internet must be hell.

I think I’ve averaged at least 10+ hours a day online since around 2012. I used to play a ton of video games, but eventually got bored in my early 20s. These days, I mostly just browse boards/forums or watch some pirated media. The FOMO from not being online faded after a while—I don’t really feel like I’m missing out on much anymore. It’s hard to find enjoyment in things sometimes since everything feels samey. Still, I’m glad a chan like this exists. Closest we had before was hikichan a while ago.
